IRS Wrongly Paid $10.9M In Tax Credit Claims, TIGTA Says

The Internal Revenue Service paid out $10.9 million in erroneous tax credit claims during the 2019 and 2020 tax years to taxpayers without a taxpayer identification number, the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration said in a report published Wednesday.
