A retired attorney said companies that managed his individual retirement plan, including Charles Schwab and Barnes & Thornburg LLP, hampered his tax savings by incorrectly classifying his pre-tax retirement contributions as post-tax contributions, according to a lawsuit filed in an Indiana district court.
